Looking Up

Sandhill crane

Nature can present us with many daily metaphors if we slow down and look. On this Monday morning my local news was dominated by disturbing facts that happened over night. Wondering why I even watched the news, I looked for something positive to clear my mind. I didn’t look far when I saw this elegant crane looking up. So, on I went putting my brush to the paper, watching the gold melt into a shimmer that began to form my crane. Thanks crane, I thought, things are really looking up.
