Sandpiper on the edge

Some days I leave my studio to walk along the shoreline to find a creature to paint.   My subject   needs to flaunt a personality that brings about a favorable emotion.  Today, this sandpiper stopped my stroll and resonated wonder. A portrait seemed worthy of his obvious, courageous endeavor, but sometimes, I feel in one split second a photo captures a moment that needs to be left alone.
